Some days, you have news too fabulous to keep to yourself, but are short on unique ways to share it. Take for instance………your wedding. Now, long gone are the days of newsboys standing on the corner shouting the latest headlines, and well, billboards don’t come cheap. But there are easier ways to spread good news and be the talk of the town, without breaking the bank. With the great deal of brides coming through our doors, wedding season in South Florida is on the rise, and brides have plenty of questions! By now you should understand the basics of a complete announcement: Date, time, location, and be clear on the RSVP deadlines and gift registries. You know the drill! But how do you give it the wow factor that creates excitement for your guests? Below are two samples that came across our desks and became instant favorites!
This lovely couple, to be wed in Atlanta, Georgia, took the DIY route, which we love because of the personalization involved. The color combination of pink & white with neutral gray is simple and very trendy. Pink cardstock is used, textured with a Baroque pattern, and mounted on grey paper coated with a soft shimmer. The card is then finished with a white overlay and a hot pink satin ribbon, tied between the bride and groom’s names. But this is only to whet the appetite! Cutting down on phone calls, emails and postage costs, the pair built a thorough wedding website, answering every question you could possibly have regarding their event. It allows guests to read about their love story, the engagement and all the details of the weekend in one convenient place. They even include family photos (no more awkward first impressions), as well as things to do around the city. Talk about an efficient duo!
Our second couple, a New York client of ours who will wed at Vizcaya Museum & Gardens next year, used their wedding theme to guide their announcement. Based on an Old Hollywood feel, the two created a movie poster for the event, boasting a gorgeous photo of the pair (complete with a palm tree skyline, how Miami!), and their bridal party as their costars. They even added key family members as guest star appearances. We absolutely love the creativity in the design, particularly because the invite is so true to their character. The back of the poster includes details on two hotel options for guests to choose from, helpful for guests unfamiliar with the area. It was mailed in a small poster cylinder with custom stamps and labels, tied with a red ribbon. Since this is a destination wedding, the “Miami” elements included in the poster help generate excitement about the event itself!
